Learn Guitar - Extended Blues Scale fretboard positioning
Similar to the guitar chords, it's necessary to learn the guitar scales in different postions.
This excercise needs to be repeated and memorized for all new scale you are about to learn, no matter major, minor, dimished scale, or in this
illustration that shows the blues scale. Check my article Learn the tones on Guitar Fretboard
related to this theme. Inituitively the scale might be used improvising over a 12 bar blues patterns like
let say for E blues scale;
E7 - A7 - E7 - E7 -A7- A7- E7 -E7 - H7 - A7 - E7- E7
Theoretically that might be not correct since E7 is a major chord and the normal blues scale start with a minor intervall.
It might be spiced up by adding the base- major step intervall, as illustrated. This also introduce a more blues jazz feel.
